There are 60 schools that participate in NCAA Division I Men’s College Hockey, competing in six conferences for a shot at the national championship at the NCAA Frozen Four. These universities are some of the finest in the world, and the level of hockey shows it. College hockey players receive more than $30 million annually in athletic scholarships. Approximately one-third of all NHL players have developed in the college system, making college hockey a primary feeder for the NHL.
